Oceana's at-sea expeditions have resulted in multiple campaign victories. The expeditions are designed to explore areas where key data are lacking, and where further documentation is needed to develop proposals for protection. Campaigners advocate for these proposals through lobby work, supported by scientifically-gathered information. In the long-term, at-sea expeditions contribute to the increased abundance and biodiversity of European seas.
